This dog water fountain is Winry approved! We’ve had this fountain for over 6 months and think it is perfect for small/medium sized dogs or cats! Here you can see Winry refreshing herself on a hot Texas day.
There are many things I like about this fountain. The first being how it looks… it’s giving artsy vibes and making Winry look oh so fancy!
It is not loud, and the white interior color makes it easy to see when it needs cleaning. I keep mine close to the kitchen sink so I can quickly unplug it and do a quick wipe down every week or so. I perform a full cleaning once a month where I replace the carbon and foam filters and clean out the pump. The pieces are easy to clean, replace, and put back together. The foam filter could probably be cleaned and reused for an extra month or so, but they are pretty cheap on Amazon, and I’d rather Winry’s water be extra clean.
As you can see, Winry likes to drink from the top, which is the water that has just gone through the filter. She’s hopefully getting the freshest water and this keeps her from getting her whole face wet, which, while Winry is not much of a dribbler, I can imagine being a benefit to those pups that are!
There are a couple of things to know about this fountain:
First, I still have to refill it every other day or so; it’s not large capacity. It will start to make noise if it gets very low, so it’s best to keep it filled to not strain the pump.
Second, as I mentioned above, you have to clean it at least once a month – maybe more if your pup is slobbery.
Third, you need to purchase replacement carbon and foam filters which is an added cost.
Fourth, every now and then, fruit flies end up in the water. I just clean these out whenever I spot them.
All things considered, I am very happy with this dog water fountain and will provide the links to the fountain and replacement parts on Amazon.
